Was thinking of a 400w radium. What ballast is best for it? A pulse start PFO from what i've seen. I don't see something like that on your list of ballasts.

Any thoughts?

I'm far from being an expert in the MH bulb area.... I have read about needing a pulse start kit(their not expensive) for a PFO ballast.  Maybe we could get ideas from a few other members.

I'll call PFO and see relay whatever info on this thread.

Hey Rob,

That's what I was afraid of, the HQI ballast. Mucho $$.. doh.

I wanted to run one 400w radium with 2 400w Iwasakis (or my current ventures)  to balance colors with growth.

So this is what I was thinking, for cost effectiveness over say going with 2-3 ushios:

2 x 400w Iwasakis (but don't have right ballast right now, just 400w MH/MV with Venture 5500k bulbs)

1 x 400w Radium

3 x 5' VHO URI actinic (~140w each? in place now)

Essentially I want a bit more blue and flourescence out of the colors, but decent growth.
