I've also read that SANJAYS report says the AB's have a better par rating! I just bought my IWASAKIS so I'm not ready to change just yet but I might try the AB's at a latter date or the new EYE MH bulbs due out soon called CLEAN ARC. They are a 65k and built for the M58 and M59 ballasts. They are an IWASAKI but made for a MH ballast as opposed to the MV. well see?

vince, yeah I like the ABs, Ushio's are nice too. Stig has 2 x 175w & actinic suppliments and it looks good.
When you're here you'll be able to see my new 250w DE HQI AB bulb.. switching over to that from 400w ventures. Had iwasakis before, but didn't like the color. They are better now mind you.
Greg I'd have to see your setup, someday soon I'll swing by. You don't run your radiums on HQI? That's cool that the electronic ballast drives them nice.

John,
Those Clean ARC bulba are what wattage? In the Iwasakis, only the 250w are MV..., the 400w, 175w, etc.... are all MH.
Sean,
The electronic ballasts run these bulbs real nice, BUT.... lately I had a problem and had to exchange one of my ballasts after only 8 months. I then found out that it is an epidemic practically and tons of people are having all kinds of problems with these ballasts. I think the fact that they are sealed completely with epoxy doesn't let the heat dissipate enough and causes problems with the circuitry. I hope I won't have to get 2 more ballasts to replace these eventually. When thew time comes, I'll see what can be done considering the fact that there is a defect with the design of these things

those lamps are 250w and 400w. there either supposed to be out now or very soon. They have them listed on there site but were in production stage last time I talked to them.[APRIL]. They are supposed to rival USHIO and AB as they will last longer, better par, and better price! but, they are 65k but will not have that green look most get when running IWASAKIS's on a standard ballast. I will try a pair as soon as my bulbs are done.

Greg, if you have an old Radium or want to try it on a regular tar 400w ballast, bring one along! We can plug it in and see.
