guys, Need some help on my skimmer!

So this is the idea i have!!!

What i need to know is what dimentions should i make the skimmer box?

This is the injector unit i have now and am going to use.. its a Becket injector in a custom housing.. with a nice little air control valve..

a second shot to show how nicly it comes apart to be cleaned!

So again.. I got some nice 1/4 inch acrylic that i want to make the box out of .. just looking to see what size i should make it?

    I was thinking

6 inches long, by 6 inches wide by 6 inches tall? would that be too big? small???

and the drain valve.. i was thinking 1 inch? with ballvalve to control the water level?

    Please and thanks..

    Box size sounds about right...

Look into using Extruded acrylic tube instead of cast acrylic. It's cheaper. Just not as clear as cast.

1" sounds good for the drain, although you may want to use a Gate valve instead of a Ball valve. You'll be able to fine tune it better in small increments with a gate valve than you would with a ball.

Looks like a home depot beckett... Am I right Tooloud?

Way to go with the DIY skimmer. I was thinking the same thing as Johnny when I saw the first picture... It looked like a torture chamber... ! hehehe

    yea its a homdepo Beckt...

Not Happy with it though the bubbles comming out of it are huge.. Not making the chamber Milky like the venturi does.. more full of big bubbles.. very unstable foam..

and she is one leaky son of a gun.. lol First time working with the acrylic.. loland cutting the acrylic was not the best.. so the joints where not the best.. lol But for a first time job.. not too bad... So i cant image how well it would work if i had built it right..

Tossed it together in an hour.. as was testing it right away.. lol No curing time.. Im too imatient.. lol will try again in the new year.. when i get my Table saw out and get my router for XMAS.. i hope.. loll then i will take my time and try again.. right.
