Question Scrap Piece of 1/4" Acrylic or Plastic

Anybody know where I can get a piece of Acrylic or Plastic that is around 2" Wide x 8-10" Long and around 1/4" thick? I just need to extend the Float Holder of my ATO unit now that I have gone from a 16" deep sump to a 36" deep sump. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Real easy, canus plastics has a freeby bin right by door entrance..
they also have some cheap scraps in the back of the stores for a few bucks.

moving.. so temporarily out of SW :b8:
planning next tank, possibly 60x30x20 on 2x plasma.

Canus is an ottawa area store, your free piece might be expensive :b9: I know the plastic stores around London don't have a "free" bin, they will charge you for every square mm or plastic

I would check the yellow pages for plastics in your area or maybe a local reefer can help you out as well.

Question Scrap Piece of 1/4" Acrylic or Plastic

    Shipwreck,
Thanks for the update. I did some experimenting by splitting a 1 1/2" PVC pipe in half and it actually worked good.

your local acrylic supply store should be able to give you scraps... or for dirt cheap.. it just makes sence.. its this or they are putting it in the garbage.
just ask most times they'll just fetch you a piece..

tell them its for a little project you wanna try.. sometimes explaining what you want to do with it helps.

Scrap Piece of 1/4" Acrylic or Plastic

Could you spost some pics of the cracks. I am no expert on acrylic repair, but you might be able to stick/bond a piece of acryilic in the corner on that seam to reinforce it.
