    Lugol's Solution

    Hey everyone!
    I went to the LFS today looking for Iodine, Found Kent's Lugol Solution ithink its 5% iodine...Now @ my Local Drugstore i can order a bottle of Lugol's Solution 5%....its like 8$ for 100ml... compare to 15$+ for 25ml.
    Im just worried about the content but... its Iodine! Im planning to buy a bottle of Kent, keep the instruction then continue with the Brand!
    ???
    Also found some Tincture of Iodine 5% and Providone-Iodine Solution USP 10%... i aint using those 2 unless someone is 100% Sure its same stuff

    Kent's ingredients
    Contents:

    deionized water, potassium iodide, and iodine.

    -------------------------------
    My bottle of tinctue's got
    5% iodine, 5% potassium iodine for active
    inactive, isopropyl alcohol and water

    looks the same exept the alcohol, im already vodka dosing :b7:
    or, i think the alcohol dries up with time....

    My Kent Marine Concentrated Iodine's ingredients are,

    deionized water, potassium iodide, calcium iodide, sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium tetraborate.

    ok i knew this was a long shot. 2 Ez to be... the liquid in the bottle isnt red by any chance?

    what do you need the iodine for???



    i use lugols for dips, dosing your tank is not recommended.

    it is for coral dips, ill stop beein a cheap skate and ill buy a bottle tomorrow

    i wanted to dip some zoa's tonight but ill wait for the real thing!

    lugols is 5% iodine 10% potassium iodide, i'm sure you could use the kents but i wouldn't use anything with isopropyl alcohol, not nice stuff ( not like vodka :b7: ).
