    GE SILICONE. very easy to find. AC or BIGALS or even HOMEDEPOT.

    Good .... So it is only the tank safe Clear that is sometimes hard to find. Thanks guys

    If you use the GE stuff, make sure it's GE Silicone I Window & Door (not Kitchen & Bath -- that contains a fungicide). Don't use Silicone II. Good silicone will smell like vinegar (acetic acid), not ammonia.

    Here's a picture of the clear stuff.... It's also available in black.

    Thanks Tang Man I will use black this time around so I don't have to worry about discoloration. I guess they don't put "safe for aquarium use" on the label because the use of black silicone is kind of new to these parts. and HEY ... MARRY CHRISTMAS

    Actually, Even the clear GE stuff doesn't say "safe for aquarium use".... but it is....

    As Rudolph the rednosed Tangman said....,
    and I want to add that as long as it says 100% silicone rubber, has no fungicides, and smells like vinegar it is safe.

    Thanks Toutouche .. I know about the fungicides thingee but in the past have always looked for the safe for aquarium use part in the instructions ... and likely paid a premium for it too. I trust the advice I am getting and will buy the 100% silicone rubber except in black
