    Exclamation Adequate SUmp Size

What would be an adequate (or smallest) sump size for a 75g display with a 50g refugium ???

    Thanks.

Sumps were meant to be bigger than the display.

I would go with atleast 50% of the tank volume. 40G breeder would work perfect.

My 80g tank has a 50G sump holding about 40G of water.

if you got a fuge ( thats super ) the sump can be just big enough to house your equipment ( heaters, skimmer, and other filtration you may have )
of course, the bigger sumps are easier to work with ( move equipment and upgrade equipment etc. )

moving.. so temporarily out of SW :b8:
planning next tank, possibly 60x30x20 on 2x plasma.

I would go with a mag 500 or 700. I'm a strong believer of low flow going through the sump. You end up with less problems in the end.
