    Sump help!!

    Ok i have access to a old 36" long tank to use as a sump.. can some one explain what i have to do to it to make it a good functioning sump!!

    you need to divide it into a few chambers depending on what equipment you will put it there and decide if part of it will be used as a refuge? I would drill a hole in on end if your pump is external. There are a lot of plans for sumps here and on the Internet in general so I would do some searching and think about what you need and want and take it from there. I can't tell you in detail how to set it up because everyones needs are different.

    is your main tank drilled? If not you will have to either get it drilled (not practical if its up and running) or get a good overflow. Pick a good pump for the return, I love the MAG pumps; quiet, powerful, reliable and affordable! Look at Mark Levenson's excellent web site for great ideas for the sump. I have my skimmer, heater and lots of LR in my sump.

    ummm can i convert a old tank into a sump with pexiglass or something for baffles??

    Absolutely.
    You can stick the plexi baffles to the glass using aquarium-safe silicone.
