    Food coloring

I am setting a new tank. I would like to test my water flow circulation and I was thinking of using food coloring to enhance the view of the flow. Does food coloring stain the glass? Are there any other problems with using it? Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Note: There will be no livestock in the tank for the tests.

I think that although it will not stain your glass it most definatly will stain your silicone if its clear.
I would perform the test without salt though.Place some carbon in immediatly after performing your test better yet drain and fill.
