    DIY idea

Hey Reefvan, here is a DIY project for you...

Today while sucking water out of the tank with a funnel I was scratching at the glass trying to get algae off and sucked into the funnel (doing a water change). Ever think of attaching an algae scrapper to a funnel to suck the alage up and out as it is scratched off the glass ? Maybe this is something that has already been done but I've never seen it before...

    Nick.

    Hi Nick,

I've read before where people have used nylon tie-wraps to attach a suction hose to a tooth brush.

This way the brush works the algae or dirt loose ansd the suction hose picks it up right away.

    Nick,

In order to do a good clean-up without losing lots of water you have to pass it through a filter unit so your water is recycled.

Here's my solution, a Magnum 330 HOT with a Fluval hose / pipe and an old toothbrush attached with tie-wraps. :

Vacuum, filter and recycle your water all in one gizmo.

p.s - It took 3 minutes to build...
