    MH in canopy

    Hi,

So this week-end I'm plannig to build my canopy... I'm wondering how high should I do it. I will be running two metal halide 250watts. And do i screw the reflector directly to the canopy or should I put them on something so they do not sit directly on the wood.

If you have picture it could be appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Martin

Screw them directly into the wood. I have my MH about 8 to 10 inches off the water, this way they avoid most of the salt spray.

I left a 2inch space between the top of the canopy and the reflectors to give room for a bit of ventilation, I made holes in the top for heat to move freely with the two fans on either side of the canopy

I too have fans, that is really a good point to add . You have to remove that heat.

You will defenetly need to have air move around in there. Figure a 12 inch hood. Gives you room to play with.
