    questions about Ca reactors

    I'm setting up a 90G with a 30G sump and i was wondering ;
    -how much would it cost me for a Ca reactor
    -is it worth it
    - how does it work (parts, and theory)
    -and are my worries about it crashing my pH true?
    If people that have one could give some addvice it would bo great! I've got lots of good ideas from this site and it has helped my alot
    Thank you very much!

    IMO, a calcium reactor is the most usefull piece of equipment you can buy for any type of reef. Expensive, yes, but totally worth it in the end

    I used to add supplements,they work well but requires testing and monitoring.
    My tank was doing fine but after talking to Matt, I decided to hook up my CR which I had never put into action.I thought I didnt have enough SPS to do so... I WAS WRONG !.There is definetly a difference in the overall health of the tank inhabitants mainly the SPS corals, and no more hassel of adding supplements.

    If you have a Softy or LPS tank I think it isnt needed though,supplements will work just fine.

    Same here. I wouldn't have a tank without one. It is amazing how much Ca a tank full of SPS can suck in. My reactor went out for a few days recently, and I went through $30 of Bionic in 4 days to keep up.
