    60*20*16 Acrylic Sump/Refuge question?

Hello, just looking for feedback on this.Today I went to a glass/acrylic shop and priced a acrylic (sump/return/fuge) style sump(same as model F on melevsreef.com)only longer and wider.

This is 83g in volume size or 60g functional,it can be made of 3/8 acrylic for $425.00 Canadian or $325.00 for the 1/4" version.

I wanted to fit a Euro reef CS12-2 skimmer in here and it has a footprint of 18" by 18" hense the big sump ,what do you think on the price? To much or o.k,I cannot afford a flood so the rubbermaid sumps are out, thanks.

The sumps dimentions are 20*20*16,the return area 25*20*16 and the fuge 15*20*16 all in L*W*H.:help:

I would go with the 3/8" for extra strength. See Melev's comments on his 80 gal sump:
    http://www.melevsreef.com/acrylics/s.../80g_sump.html

Is that price for assembled? Or just the pieces? If assembled it is an okay price.

You might ask Harley(Ottawa local) for a quote, but, remember to add shipping and a new leak test (after that much shipping and handling).

Cres, yes thats assembled tax and all.I think i will go 3/8's just to be safe. This hobby certainly isn't cheap!!!

Like you said by the time I pay for shipping etc...it'll probably cost the same or more.

Yes, a 3/8" thick, 80 Gal acrylic box isn't the cheapest thing you will buy. Especially since it won't be viewed that many times.

If you are handy you could save some dollars, but, if you aren't the booze and meds you'll go through will make up the difference you might have saved. :banghead:
