    Tunze Stream Rat Mod

I got a message this morning from someone on RDO, and I answered his query as to Rat modifying a Tunze Stream as follows:

"Great idea, how big would you make the nozzle?

Do you think perhaps that a lateral pivot hinge on the Tunze support bracket may be a more unobtrusive (visual appeal) solution?

I'd consider modifying a Rat drive unit to drive the pivoting Tunze Stream pump.

Now all I need is a Tunze Stream pump to experiment with ...."

Input time, what do you folks think? Is this a mod that folks think might be something to pursue?

I guess this mod doesn't interest anyone ...

Is it that the Tunze Stream is too expensive or are you doubting this can be McGyvered? :

We'll see who has the last laugh! Bwwwwwhahahahahaha ...

McGyvered... lol I think its a great idea Reefvan... it all comes down to cost... the tunze pump for 170 and then another 150 for the Tunnel Rat maybe? ...ohhh did I just give it a name? hehe

    heheh.. Tunnel rat... neat...

It would be interesting to see what Van can Macgyver out from this idea...

Now couple this with a Tunze controller as well, and you're really talking some serious random currents...

Not having a Tunze, I can't really comment on what I'd "like" to have different...

Maybe this explains why there havn't been many replies. Not many people have Tunze's...

I would say it's more out of belief that it can't be "MacGyvered" ( at least in my case as these guys aren't small) and you might end up needing a bit stronger motor. I'm interested to find out though!!!

My thought is that because of the overall size of the Tunze's, It might be large and cumbersome moving around like that in the tank.
It would be quite interesting to see though...

That's why it has to be tried ...

They said the same thing about the Sea-Squirrel ... :
and then again about the Reef-Rat ...

One thing's for sure, it definitely won't work if someone doesn't try it ...
