    HOB refugium

    anyone use one of these? i don;t have a sump and was considering buyin one of these. i also heard that someone on this forum makes them too, can anyone here make me one?

    my HOB fuge from acrylic city

    the fuge is 4 inche thick and 12 inches wide alll you need is a maxi jet 400 to 600....600 better

    how much was it? u don;t put sand or macro algae in there?
    where is acrylic city?

    yes i do..i just put set up my tank when i took the pics...i put macro and couple inches of sand in there

    do u have the pump costantly pumping? how does the plumbing work? will u be putting a small pc light over it too?

    i have a light over it but i will used my halides to light it up...thats why i put it on the side like that.And yes the pump runs constantly..

    I circled the in and the out part..the bigger on is the out part and the smaller one that has a tube is the in part were the pump pumps the water in the fuge

    I have the exact same unit on my tank in my office at work. I have 3" of sand in it and some macro alage as well as a single Mangrove pod. Lots of life in it and a great place to grow the macro that I feed to the tang.
