    Pinpoint Wireless Thermometer

Well I guess the word is out, FAMA is advertising the Beta test I'm doing so here it is ...

Wireless thermometer with up to 4 remote wireless sensors.

I've been carrying out a beta test on a unit with 2 remote sensors and I must say, it's pretty handy ... one is in the sump and another is in the top-off holding bin.

A auto-scroll menu is aavailable so that the temp reading from each remote sensor flashes up in sequential succession, nice so that you don't have to play with the unit menu all the time.

Each unit runs on AAA batteries, probably for a year or so.

Hmm... I saw those on their site last week...
I too, was hoping for something in the way of a Calcium or Alkalinity monitor...

So RV, you say they last a year or so on the AAA batteries. How long do the others last you on the 9V batteries, and are they constantly on?

I only turn mine on to verify the readings, and then turn it off. I let the monitor settle to a reading for a few minutes though...

So far, the batter in my pH monitor has lasted me over a year with this routine.

I leave mine on all the time and the typical battery in a pH meter lasts a few of months.

The 1 year battery life quoted is from the Pinpoint literature, time will tell ...

speaking of the pinpoint pH monitor, mine is now reading at 8.4 (i was dosing with KW, and slowed it down to a stop now) is that dangerously high? or is that fine and as i leave it it will probably slowly drop.

I've been up to 8.6 before... I wouldn't keep it that high for long though...

Ideally shoot for 8.3ish... 8.2-8.4 is fine.
