AIVENDETTA32, what are your tank parameters? Any 'bully' fish in the tank that may have caused trauma?

Your tang could have got popeye from a simple scratch and it got infected.

Keep him well fed and it should clear up in 1week. There is a chance he will be blind and the eye will be cloudy.

    Good luck!

As deafgoose said, it could be bilateral popeye or it could simply be an injury..

if it doesn't appear to be getting better you may want to try an antibiotic in his food.

    good luck

My yellow tang had pop-eye from a scratch a couple months ago.

From experience Id say to look for signs of bacterial/fungal infection vs injury. If its just an injury, like in my case, you have a good chance of fighting back. Just make sure the tang gets enough food and is as least stressed as possible so that a scratch doesnt turn into an infection.

In my case it took about 1 week to heal. After 2 weeks the damage was unnoticable and tang returned to normal.

Some yummy minced garlic is a natural antibiotic, if he won't eat it straight, try soaking some nori in the garlic for a couple mins before feeding.

and you should use it as a preventative measure and not just if you see a problem, my tank gets garlic in one form or another everyday.
