    Firefish with infected eye

About a week ago, one of my purple firefish had an unfortunate encounter with a bristle worm. He got few needles in his eye. Now the eye seems infected since it has gone bigger and white. Will it heal by itself? If not is there an effective treatment?

If you could get him out of the tank for treatment that would be good. However that is not likely going to happen unless your ready to tear your tank apart to catch him. Eyes will heal pretty fast if they are going to but there is always a risk of a bacteria infection starting up at the wound site. There are some "reef safe" bacteria treatments on the market that you could try if the eye is or becomes infected. There isn't a lot you can do other then to treat infection if it takes hold. The eye will heal ... or it won't
