    Return Pump

Well were FINALLY moving in 2 weeks and I'm thinking that I'm going to put the sump in the basement. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a good return pump. of course money is a factor. (Like everyone i'm sure) There's going to be about 12 to 14 feet of head. I was thinking about a T4 but I heard that they add alot of heat to the tank. Let me know what you think. I'd like to keep it to an external pump.
    Cheers,
    Mike Philpott

Mike, I've got 2 T4s and am very happy. If you only want to turn the tank over 3 times per hour thru the sump, the T4 is rated at about 300 gal/h at 17feet, which should be plenty. Also I would think heat transfer would be decreased by the long pumping distances. Great pumps and on sale at J and L for 208$ John

I would look at a GenX Mak4. It will do about 800pgh at 14feet of head pressure, so you may need to divert some water back to your sump. It only uses 110 watts of power and it is less expensive than the T4 and about the same price as a Mag 18. Mine runs very cool.

They have a built in fan, so they are not super quiet like the T4, but is this is going in your basement, it shouldn't matter.

I like mine and I think it is much better built than my Mag pump.
