i keep a sponge filter running in my sump for easy set up of a QT or hospital tank. my QT is a 20g so i got a sponge filter rated for a 40g. if you just us it for QT you can clean the sponge and re-use it but if it's for a hospital you would be best to get a new sponge.

i use water out my main tank for water changes and replace that with new salt water. this way you get your water changes done as well as keeping the patient aclimatized to the tank.

other than that just put a piece of PVC pipe in for a hiding spot and your ready. if you put any sand or LR in you should throw it out too as the disease could live on them to infect the next occupant.

Ac is perfect, only put Foam in the filter add copper in the quarantine and if you wanna reduce copper in the quarantine add carbon in the filter then remove it... No Live Rock, No Sand and Not more then one in it.

Parasites can survive more in sand quarantines then in a bb tank.
