    Can someone please ID these?

These things are starting to grow all over on my LR. I was just wondering if this is something I should be concerned about

i agree, it does look like some kind of macro algae but it is very hard to tell. i'm not even sure what i'm looking at is what your asking about. any chance of another pic, maybe a little closer??

if it is spreading fast, it is probably best to remove it / them but lets try to make sure what we are talking about first.

My camera isn't the best for taking picture's at all. That pic is the best I can get, if you enlarge it, you can clearly see the brown stick looking things growing off the live rock in the top right corner.

That pic was the best out of nearly 20 I tried to take yesterday.. Sorry about the quality.

tough to say but going by the pic / description .... possibly a peanut worm

look at the end of the stick, does it look like a worm?

    does it move or retract?

is it possible they are a plant? ( macro algae )

are they attached to the rock? how?

it would be best if you could borrow a camera and get a better picture.

I wish I could borrow my friends REALLY good camera, but she's in Whistler for the season :S

They just sit there, attached to the rock. The snails or crabs dont seem very interested in them. The part of the rock that they are attached too are a deep red color, almost brown. I noticed last night that they expel some sort of goo haha.. It looked like a thing strand of hair coming out of the top of one and it was waving all over the tank with the current. My girlfriend and I were amazed - it looked pretty wild. Once again, all my pics came out as a blur. Its unfortunate since my new hobby I want to sink all my money into that rather than a better Digital Camera lol

now that sounds like a worm, maybe a spaghetti worm or one of many other worms found in our tanks. they build tubes to live in and extend there tentacles to grab food from the water. they will probably get eaten as you start to add more livestock.
