I picked up a new protien skimmer, a Fission power skimmer, its' AWESOME

didnt' take more than 5 min to start bringing up skim, I kid you not.

It's really wet skim, but holy cow!

thing is all bubbles, and has a return that has a foamy thing on the return end to reduce micro bubbles in the water.

Pay'd 300 ci (think 360 US for it). I hope it's well worth it. Instructions say I gotta wait 24 to 72 hours before the massive gunk starts to be pulled. But right now, it's skimming fine, just really wet.

Has anyone else had a skimmer that kicks in, less than 5 min out of the box?

i would back it off a bit, it may start to overflow once it really kicks in. can you adjust the O2 input or output height / gate valve??

    great to hear !
but, be carefull, it may need ajustment in the morning as you may be accumulating too much water.. throwing away too much water will lower your salinity if you got auto top-off setup. check your cup in the am.. if its filled with water, ajust accordingly.

moving.. so temporarily out of SW :b8:
planning next tank, possibly 60x30x20 on 2x plasma.

Yup, it has a cool blue knob. And the instructions say to create alot of bubbles for up to 72 hours then kick back on the bubbles production.

Overall, I think this is a heck of alot better skimmer than seaclone 150.

took my seaclone 150 3 weeks to start producing ANY skim, be it wet or dry.
