    Rock Anemone

So this weekend we went out and bought 2 clownfish and a Rock anemone already attached to live rock.

When we placed them in our tanks, our clowns seemed to be at home and swam all over - they seem fine.

But our peppermint shrimp keep pissing off our Anemone. Constantly picking at it and all. After a good nights rest I woke up in the morning and the Anemone was floating at the surface, and within like 2 minutes of watching it, managed to attach itself in the top back right corner of the tank just below the water level.

Is this normal? Should I remove my peppermint shrimp? Should I place the Anemone somehow back on the bottom on a rock? Or just let everything fall into place and take its course?

Are you sure you have peppermint shrimp and not Camel?

Here is a link to a thread showing the differences.

If the anemone is not happy in it's new home it will move where it wants so no worries there. However if the shrimp continues to pick on it you will have to choose which to keep.

Nope! They are for sure peppermint shrimp. But if worse came to worse I would get rid of them before my anemone.

if your sure they are peppermints, how sure are you that it is a rock anemone?? peppermint shrimp do go after glass anemones, that is why we keep them ( one of the reasons anyway ).

can you post a pic of the anemone??

about the moving, have you feed the anemone?? and if yes then what and how often??

I bought the anemone from a pet store, big als to be exact. I'm definate that it is what it is, and for sure that they are attacking it. They eat his base, the part that sticks to the rock. The first day I got him I fed him live shrimp and he loved it, I think I am going to remove the p.shrimp
