    Berlin XL

    I have a 180 gallon with a 50 gallon sump.

I have been told by LFS that a Berlin XL would be just fine for a skimmer on my 180 gallon.

Is that true and what are the specs. on the Berlin XL.

I don't think so .... you'd definitely be better off with something like an AquaC EV-240 or 400 ....

If I'm not mistaken that Berlin XL won't work well on anything over 90 gallons ... even then ....

I've read where the Berlin XL is rated up to 400 gallons. If that is the case, I was told that it will skim effectively half that amount. Is that true?

its rated up to 400G's on a lightly stocked tank.. So for it to maintain a 180G tank you would be looking at about 3-4 fish no more than say 2-3 inches in size..

I run the classic version which is a lot small in foot print. It is running a 90 gal & 25 sump with out any problems. The XL is a much more powerful skimmer, and in my opinion should work well on the 180& sump.

Don't mean to hi jack the thread, but is the precision marine V626 good enough for a 100 gallon tank?
