    what is this?

    Hey guys I just purchased LR from a neighbor leaving the hobby. The LR has pink stuff on it with little plants. I want to know what it is and if its bad?

    Its not Zenia and judging by how its spreading unless you want a tank full of it in 6 months I'd take it out now.

    Looks a bit like Aiptasia, but I've never seen them come in pink or clustered like that!

    not sure..but not aiptasia nor zenia in my mind. but if its spreading fast.. odds are you will want to take ti out as it could suficate your other corals over time.

    dont hydroids look like that? but never seen in pink either..

    do they really look pink when you look at them in natural lighting or did it just turn out to be pink from camera?

    They look pink all the time and the little plants hide in the dark and come out
    when lights are on. Its not spreading at all its only on the one rock. I have been looking at this for the past month since I purchased it and it does not seem to be spreading yet???? But I want to know what it might be? The pink stuff feels like gum thats all that I realy know.

    Maybe ask the person you bought it from ?

    No idea... I've never seen this before... maybe a retailer might be able to help(lots of corals/pests going through those palces!!)
