    new 50g predator

I just inheirited a 50g tank that was in rough shape. I moved the coral to my main tank, and it looks like they are going to make it. Emptied the tank, scrubbed it out, refilled with new water and am currently cycling. I'd like to turn this into a predator tank. I had originally hoped for a huma trigger, but I found out a 50 is too small for one. I was told I could do a lionfish though, as they aren't big swimmers. What I'd like to know is what else can I do with a tank like this. I already have a 46g reef, so I'm looking for something different.

if you want a predator tank what about an eel, i would love one but they have a tendency to eat anything that can fit in their mouth.

great job on the clean up :b16:

Yeah, cleanup was alot of work, I was at it till 3 am. Unfortunately, since I emptied the tank and had to scrub all that algae off, all the coraline on the glass has turned white, I guess it's dying. Rock still looks decent though

thats shouldn't be a problem, in time you'll be cursing having to scrap it off the glass every couple of weeks.

    Update, with first additions!

Well, after letting the tank sit quietly for a few weeks, it was finally time for some additions. I went to my fave LFS a few hours away and picked up a snowflake eel, and a huge maroon clown for the 50g. Heres a few pics, shortly after they were dropped in last night!

    my new skimmer!

nice pics, i've always wanted an eel but don't want to have to give him his own tank. if i kept every species i wanted, i would have a dozen species only tanks. i think i may have a problem ............... :b13:
