    Hi All!

    Hi All,

I've just joined this forum yesterday and woud like to introduce myself.
I've been in the reefkeeping hobby for approx 2.5 years, previous to that I have about 8 years of freshwater experience under my belt.
My current tank is a 75G 24x30x24 Coast to Coast overflow tank, this is my 3rd reef tank.
I've learnt many mistakes on the way, blew away a lot of of $$ into this hobby and absolutely love it!

Here's Some Pics of my current tank, it's still a work in progress:

    Hi and thanks!

    For equipment:

Return Pump: T4 Velocity (1255 Gph) feeds directly thoguh chiller and split into two outlets on either side of the tank, all return plumbing is 1" until split where it's 3/4"

Water Movement: 2 x Tunze 1045ís on a wave function from my reefkeeper 2 - Only run from 8am- 10:30pm, I try to repliate ocean currents where day night differs.

    Lighting: Giesemann Infinity 250w HQI 14k + 4x24w T5 Actinics - Actinics on 10am-10pm MH on from 12pm-8pm

    Skimmer: Bubble King 180 Mini

Calcium: Dual Chamber reactor with dosing pimp and Milwakee PH control - Soon to be replaced with deltec 501 as the current setup can't keep up with the calcium demand efficiently

Ozone: Red Sea Aquazone plus 100mg - Runs when needed ORP set to 400mv point, dose rate 15mg

Cooling: 1/10hp Pacific Coast Chiller - Currently set to kick in at 81F and turn off at 78F

    Other: ATO, RODI, Phosban

nice job on the install, very professional :b2:

from my own unfortunate experience, i would suggest that if you can still now or in future applications always paint any exposed wood. the humidity level inside the cabinet in time will allow that black mold to start growing.

also, i can tell by your success you probably already know that those sponges in the bubble trap need to be kept clean to prevent building nitrates.

you have an incredible tank, very well thought out and i love the coast to coast.

    Thanks a4twenty!!

Yes the sponges i do try to keep clean more or less they we're from back when I started the setup where I had two dursos and a lot of micro bubbles. Currently one inlet is underwater and takes in approx 90-95% of the water and only 5-10% goes down the durso. The result is a zero noise overflow system and no more splashy splashy.

For the stand interior it's been treated with 2 clear coats of polyurathane, the wood looks bare but it isn't. I also have a fan turn on during the light cycle which moves the air alot and I don't forsee any black mold growing anytime soon. *Fingers crossed*
