    arrow crab

Hey guys I woke up this morning with a missing arrow crab. I looked around and found a bunch of bristle worms eating him. I battled them away and placed him in a quarantine tank hoping he will still be alive and come back. My question is how long should I give him because he might just be molting (shedding his outer shell) or should I just flush him down?

it may have just been the molt and your crab is hiding until his new shell hardens up before making an appearance. i don't think bristle worms would or could attack a live crab so whatever you saved is probably already dead or was never really alive. ( molt )

Yep. There is no way a bristleworm would take down a healthy or even recently molted arrow crab. Hopefully your crab hasn't died and you saw them cleaning up the molt. It's amazing how much the molt can look like the real thing.

it shouldn't take a couple of weeks, he should come back out in a day or so. just so you know, leaving the molt in is fine, the nutrients just get recycled.

i'll keep my fingers crossed that it is a molt but if not, check your params as most inverts don't like high nitrates.
