I picked up the same nanocube a little over 1month ago.

I added more flow and lighting and so far so good. I was really happy when I found out they are all glass and not acrylic.

I have to dose alk, cal, mag twice per day to keep the parameters stable but I knew a nano reef would be lots of work. I am currently looking into a dosing system to take care of that for me.
29g Biocube, 2x90w Aqua Illumination LED light modules, Vortech MP20, Sapphire BC29 skimmer, GHL Profilux Plus II with 3pump doser.

oh good infos, do you think you could put some pictures of the modified light. I'm pretty curious what you've done

how do you manage adding the dosing systems in the tank? hehe not much room in there

The light fixture I use is a 20" Sunpod 150w MH made by Current USA. They are a very popular choice for nano tanks. Not too many other light fixtures that are 20" wide. I also bought a 20" Nova Extreme Pro T5 light fixture. It is also made by Current USA and the T5 bulbs are only 18" long. I am still waiting for it in the mail. I bought both light fixtures to see how they compare in person.

The dosing system would be in the cabinet with small tubes that go to the rear chambers.

    Example:
29g Biocube, 2x90w Aqua Illumination LED light modules, Vortech MP20, Sapphire BC29 skimmer, GHL Profilux Plus II with 3pump doser.

Yes, I am now topless. :b2:

You can keep the stock top and order the metal halide upgrade kit from nanocustoms.com but you will need a chiller and the fans will be louder. Plus it's 2x the price of a sunpod!

The amount of sand you need will depend on how many inches you want it. I have exactly 30lb of sand and that gave me 2 inches.
