    Fluidized bed

Can a sand or even crushed coral fluidized bed be used insded of bio-balls, or is there something else that is better to use? I want to add it to my refug.

    Hi,
why not do a DSB instead ? ( deep sand bed )

bioballs are rarely used in the hobby anymore.. or in fish only systems.

for what type of system are you building this for ?

moving.. so temporarily out of SW :b8:
planning next tank, possibly 60x30x20 on 2x plasma.

as liv said, why don't you tell us what type of system you are setting up and we can better offer advice.

CC shouldn't be used in SW, it is to big and will trap detritus and waste, causing nutrient problems down the road.
