    white stuff on powerhead?

Hi, hoping someone can tell me what the white stuff is. The other pwerhead has some but not as much. As far as I can tell, the rocks, etc... don't have anything like that and there is none floating in the water.
    thanks.

If this powerhead is sticking out of the water, that would be salt creep. A normal occurance.

If this powerhead is submerged, that would most probably be small sponge formations.

speaking of salt creap... poeple make sure to clean your lamps every once in a while... I got a nice little ZAP!! yesterday when I put my hand in the tank...

I unplugged everything until the ZAPS stoped.. lol (took 6 plugs to find the bugger)... it ended up being my VHO light setup. (no not a WH7.. lol it was a Hello Lights setup). The salt creeep was so bad that it must of found some power somewhere... I cleaned it up and no more zaps!!.

If I act a bit wierd in the next few days... you all know where it came from...

it is submerged....if it is some sort of sponge, would it be powdery when stirred?

I'm pretty sure it is not undissolved salt
    thanks.

nice to meet you too johnny!
Not cone shape...they're flat almost snowflake like. When I rub it with my finger, it scatters in the water..powdery. I just checked it again, you can almost feel a little bump once everything is scattered. only on that powerhead...not on the heater right next to it. Powerhead is new, never been used to do anything else.
I guess it's not anything bad....
    thanks.

Isn't that just new coraline algae? Hard to tell from picture.
