Emerald crab?
Our 15g is being taken over with red bubble algae. I initially thought it was a sponge of some sort - it was in the back of the tank and one bubble was at least an inch and a half long. Now there are red bubbles all over the rocks. They seem a different shape than green bubble algae.
I would like to get an emerald crab - a tiny one.
I have two small occelaris in the tank and one cleaner shrimp. Will they be safe?
Also have a small clean up crew of scarlett crabs and burrowing snails.
Thanks.

Not cyano - firm red bubbles sticking to the rock. I'll try and post a pic. Tank has been set up a year and a half.

Will they just eat the algae or also my fish sleeping near the bottom or the cleaner shrimp?

your both right, there is some green & red bubble and a little cyano.
you should be fine adding an emerald crab.

Thanks guys.
I bought two tiny emerald crabs today. It will take them a while to eat the algae.
I wonder how they will stay on top of the algae, won't them eating it cause it to spread even more?
Within ten minutes of being in the tank (after acclimatizing them) they were eating bubble algae.

i had a tiny outbreak a few years ago and bought 3 ( for a 120G ) and have never seen a bubble since. i think they just never give up and keep the problem under control and out of site.
great news that they got right to work :b15:
