    Sponge identification

This sponge just keeps growing. I'd love some help to identify it so I can figure out why it is spreading how to stop it.

is it sort of pinkish whitish???

i can't say what species it is but it looks to be a harmless filter feeder. you can trim / scrape it back, rotate the rock so it gets more light or if you really want it gone.....

take the rock out of the water for a while ( if possible ), then give it a good cleaning / rinse in SW to remove the dead sponge.

personally i'd go with one of the first options. less chance of an NH3 spike and less disruption to the tank.

he's growing so much because he's happy :b7:
