    Compatibility Question...

Hey folks Long time no chat!

I am looking to add some fish to my 108gal FOWLR. Not covered...

    I currently have:

    2 engineer gobies
    1 yellow tang
    1 orange spotted goby
    4 green chromis
    3 blue yellow tailed damsels
    2 yellow tailed damsels
    2 chocolate chip stars
    1 brittle star
    2 peppermint shrimp
    understocked CUC :|

Going to be beefing up the CUC, but would like suggestions on 1 or 2 pink/purple/red fish (yes.. still trying to decide).. reasonably priced, hardy and non-jumpers...

From what I have been able to tell.. Basslets and Dottybacks are out of the picture as they are jumpers. Thoughts?

wow, that a lot of fishies :b13:

hows the aggression, those damsels can become a serious pain.

I never had any of my basslets ( anthias ) jump out of the tank.
they were usually eaten by my freakishly large hadonni anemone.. lol

I'd go anthias.. soo beautiful a group of them impair is a must.
most have the ability to change sexes.. but its not overnight.. so try and get 1 male and like 2 females.. idealy.. a larger group would be better.

    my 2cents

moving.. so temporarily out of SW :b8:
planning next tank, possibly 60x30x20 on 2x plasma.

    Thanks Buddy!

Lots of fishies? I don't think the 108gal is overstocked.. most of the fish are small except the engineering gobies and yellow tang, I don't have any corals and am only going to add one more fish.

Minimal aggression from the damsels, the blue-yellow tailed are not aggressive at all. The yellow tails are though. One of the two is more agressive than the other, but he keeps his aggression to chasing other inhabitants out of his hidey hole.. orange spotted goby got a good what for when he ventured in there one day.

Snow has been on the ground for about a month but temperatures have been mild so not complaining!

So which Anthias/Basslet would you suggest? Barletts?

    I'd be ordering from J&L..

Im guessing this means you never moved to KW?

As far as anthias go I like the Lyretail, but get 2-3 femals and one will turn into a male. I had several I bought as a group with a male, but when the male disapeared the female changed and became a nicer looking male, and it was very cool to watch the transition.

Fathead/sunburst anthias are also nice looking but I have never owned them.

i've had the least expensive ones.. lol
    lyretail, dispar, purple queen.

the dispar were the hardiest in my tank. the queen was real shy and the lyretail was probebly eaten by the anemone.. lol

I like the Ignitus Anthias. I'm looking into getting some in the new year. Apparently their dusk antics are something to watch, and they are generally active.

I'm new to this hobby, but I think most anthias need to be added in multiples...
