    Getting started!

    Hi everyone!

I'm so happy to see a Canadian fourm for saltwater now.

I've been outa the game for about 8 years. In the past I had both a 90g and a 65g tall reef set up. I've now started my own little 20g nano, I missed salt water way too much. So far so good, I have about 25lb of live rock, a few small fish, feather duster, but i'm looking for few things,

I'm looking for some soft corals, I'm not looking for anything big, just small frags to start the tank off.

I also need a good protein skimmer for a tank this size? any one have anything used?

Please let me know what you have laying around that might work for this tank, i'm looking at upgrading the lighting soon too.

I'm in the Hamilton area, but do a lot of traveling within southern ontario, so let me know if you can help.

    Cheers
    Trevor

    Welcome to Aquaria Canada :b2:

sooner or later, we always go back to saltwater..its an addiction he he

see our classifieds for frags/skimmers and other goodies, and also check our our sponsors list on the left pane, some of them are closer to you.. also, most of them ship, so shop around.
What lighting are you using at the moment ?

I'm no expert on nano's so wont put any comments on small skimmers.

    Cheers,
    ~LIV

I'm looking into taking on a DIY LED project for the tank... Should be interested...

welcome, and make sure to post lots of pics.

as liv said, there are lots of sponsors around carrying frags as well as many frag sites on the net.

hopefully some of the nano people will chime in with a skimmer recommendation.....

Don't think about it, do it! Go with a coast to coast calfo style overflow system with your tank drilled, if it isn't too late.

i agree and tell the girlfriend you're doing it for her :b2:

tanks in that size range aren't too expensive and depending on your handiness you could drill and fabricate the overflow.
