    another newbie question comming up

I just got more snails from Ijo tonight..
they are cleaning up the place allready.. !!

just one question, since I put them in.. ( this might be a coinsidence ) but I just noticed a little white star with a red dot in the midlle.. and its moving on its own. its about 1/4 in diam... looks like a normal star but 100 times smaller..

is this an egg pouch from the snails I got ??
i read up that margarita snails are hard to breed.
( i find it hard to believe that I would get eggs in it specially after placing them in a new enviroment )..

    what you guys/gals think?

I checked googles pic and it looks nothing like the snail eggs I found on it.

if you need a pic.. i'll try to take one.. but it might be hard.

    ya...its a star alright
it moved a good 4" I was able to get a good look at it.

now.. is it too early to tell if this is a nasty starfish or a good one ?

Yes it is definitly a star, but not the one that you posted, Liv. It is a very common type that often arrives on live rock or new corals. They reproduce in tanks and almost never have a perfectly symmetrical body. They always look deformed. I must say that at times I have seen them 'clean' patches away from the underside of some SPS corsals like stylophora and seriatopora, but in general they don't do much harm. They are difficult to eradicate from a tank because you never know how many you have. You could start removing them as you see them and spend all of your time obsessing about them and have your arm in the tank at all hours trying to get them out...or you could just let them be. I have seen my peppermint shrimp eat a couple, but the shrimps also eat the same corals!!
You'll probably be seeing more of them and I wouldn't worry about them.
    Matt.
