    VHO vs NO

I have a Workhorse 7 connected up as discussed in previous threads: 3 red wires with two bulbs in series. The builbs are 24" 75W URi VHO. Today, I bought a $6 daylight NO bulb and put it into the circuit in place of one of the VHO's. Other than a yellow color, it looks just as bright (or even a bit brighter. This surprises me. I guess the NO could be overdiven, but....

My question: other than with a Lux meter, is there any way to confirm that my VHO bulbs are really putting out VHO level lighting?

I have taken out the NO bulb. Partly due to the yellow color. But mainly because the end caps were getting really hot: much hotter than the end caps with the VHO tube.
