    Question Foam on water in tank?

    I have foam around the glass on the top of the water.. is that normal?

    or what could it be?

    no skimmer..(saving money for refug/skimmer combo!!)

    help would be appreciated..

    is this foam "stable" like you would see in the back Edie along a stream?

    the foam is white and all at top of tank in back and sides.. will try to skim it out?

    not sure what you ean about foam in eddies?

    more like natural white foam on back of tank

    If the foam is white and you have NEVER put anything in the tank or used any containers for the tank that have come in contact with dish soap then it is likely due to less then ideal surface aggregation. Adjustments to your water flow setup should take care of it.

    ok i just move the water a bit and the foam dissappeared!!


    moving power heads closer to surface.

    ok foam again this morning on top... only happens at night??

    just noticed that you are cycling this tank. If the foam is white and clean I would not worry about it too much. There's a lot going on in there right now. If that foam starts to be yellow or brown then you would have reason to be concerned. But it sounds like you have a skimmer so just skim it off

    ok i turned off my Hangon Filter.. nothing in it... and no more foam lol..

    wierd...

    so i guess its just harmless foam..

    Im getting rid of the hangon and getting a third powerhead..
