    panther grouper and volitan lionfish

I have 6 inche volitan lionfish and I just got 3 inche panther grouper.I have my grouper in my 33 gallons now and my lion in my 150 gallons.I am wondering if my lionfish would eat my grouper because he is smaller than the lionfish?Should i put an eggcrate or something to seperate them in the mean time...that my grouper gets bigger?

I know that thanks..but my problem is that its really hard to say..lionfishes can surprise you by what they will put in there mouth...any of you guys seperate their tank with eggcrate or something, how do you guys do it?Where do you get eggcrate?

A very tough call. I by no means have any experience keeping preditor fish, but if I could change the world, I'd make the panther grouper "reef safe", because it is truely an awsome fish.

You get eggcrate at your local hardware store. I usually get mine at home depot.
Just measure the inside width of the tank and cut the squares one by one with a wire cutter. Take your time because it's fragile. If you measured carefully enough you should get a pressure fit and the eggcrate will stay put.

I know a 150 gallon seems big but it isn't for these fish. The Minatus will get to be 16", the lionfish 15" and the panther about 27.6". Neither are big swimmers and they may get along but they're going to pollute 150 gallons in no time. All are big messy eaters. You'd have to keep them in starvation to keep the water clean.
