    light question

    i want to get new lights for my 35g and start with some corals(mushrooms,zoo's, lps).i was thinking of pc,lfs has one for a good price jebo pc 36 "
    with 2 55w (10k and actinic)is this enough
    or should i go with 2x96 (price not that good).

    I had the same issue. I how found a real good deal from PC lighting on EBAY. Then I start asking someone the local guys and the same response was we started out that way and ended up going with larger lighting so we purchased everything twice.

    So I guess it comes down to your pocket book and what you wish to support.

    IMO every thing you listed will do fine under NO lighting. I had mushrooms. yellow polyps, zoos, xenia, pink colt under NO lighting until 3 weeks ago.

    If this is all you want to keep for corals then IMO the first one.
    With 2 55w (10k and actinic)... I like runing the actinic in the morning and evening as sun up and sun down .. so you may want to check if it has the dual switch.

    Also I had once seen an article that made mention of a ratio 4 or 5 watts per gallon but I couldn't find the link that refernaced that quote....You may want to search ago google a bit regarding this one.

    If you are stuck on the ratio then your first choice is only at 3 watts per /gallon

    chek out the garf site they had some good down to earth info on lighting ,as far as the 4 to 5watts per gal thats just for rule of thumb!!!
