    Feeding questions, shrimp/coral

Im not sure if I am doing this right so Im asking if this is the proper way to feed my shrimp and corals.

Candy Cane Coral: Using a very small turkey baster I spot feed each section 1-2 mysis every 2-3 days.
Blood red shrimp: Same as above but more mysis.
Sun polyps: When the polyps come out I take the coral out of the tank and put it in a small tupperware dish with tank water and spot feed with mysis every 2-3 days.

I am trying to limit the amount of uneaten food in the tank and have managed to keep nitrates below 5ppm this way. Am I doing it right or is there some way I could improve?

I feed my candy cane mysis the same way you do, and he is doing great!! As for the the sun polyps I have never owned one so I can't really comment. Why can't you just feed him in the tank? Wouldn't it save him a little stress?

I do not remove my sunpolyps to feed, I just wait till they are open and spot feed with the baster.

I will try feeding it in the tank but because its very small its hard to feed properly. I just didnt want the excess mysis floating around the tank. As for the shrimp, is it ok I feed it mysis?

    Thanks

Yes, he will be fine eating mysis. Also your shrimp should clean up any mysis that may escape the sun polyps. Make sure your shrimp does not try to steal the mysis from your sun polyps. I had a cleaner shrimp that used to steal mysis from my Blasto.

i've seen pictures of people putting the top half of a 2 L bottle over their suns and squirting the food in the neck.

concentrated feeding w/o removing the coral.

How long would you leave the bottle there?
