HEEELP Long worm , good or bad?

I just noticed a worm looking thing about 4" long in my 30 gal.It is a beige color body with blondish ( hair?!?) coming out from the sides. My camera won't get a good picture. If that is enough description is this a good or bad thing?? I have heard nothing but bad about worm type creatures.
That sounds a little fishy to me ! :canadian:

I think I have figured it out.Hermodice carunculata, bristle worm is what I found on the netBut I have found conflicting stories as to whether they are good or bad. Some people say they buy them for their tank others say they bought traps to get rid of them. Can they really grow to be over 1 foot long?Should I nuke it or not??? :guns:

Leave it in. Removing them is "old school" way of thinking. They are scavengers that will clean up leftover food and whatnot. Yes, they can easily grow over 1 foot long over time.

I agree leave it. Here's my 12"+ buddy in my new 120 while it was still getting settled.

4" is just a little one Bristle worms are about the best cleanup critters you can get. The big ones are great to have - they breed.
