How do you do your water changes

Topic says it all. I'm setting up a small 10 G tank and I'm wondering the best way to do a water change on my tank. I will have a hang on tank refugium built from Harley. Should I be taking water from the refugium or from the main tank? I would only chanage 1-2 gallons per week so it's nothing major but since i've never done one I figured I would ask around.

    Thanks,

    Steph

I have 2 rubbermaid pails 17gls each, 1 that contains the salt mix and the other to drain,I have a pump which I turn on and fills up the first pail with water from the sump to be discarded.

I have a T from the R/O which splits, one to the reservoir for regular top off, the other to the Salt mix bucket(second rubbermaid).
I prepare my water a day in advance and have a small pump to circulate it thats it.

I don't think it matters where you take it out from, what ever's the easiest.

    I use 2 1 gallon containers & a coffee mug.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the info guys. Hey Krugar do you do it all at once or do you slowly take water from the tank and slowly add water to the tank?

I do not do water changes as often as I should (fish only for now) so I do a LIGHT vacuuming of the top part of my substrate when I do a water change. Kill 2 birds with one stone kind of thing

I try not to get the coral p.o'd when I put new water in, but otherwise I do it all at once.

    Cheers!
