    Tail nipping

    Hello guys,

I just got back from Ontario and my girlfriend added a new fish to our aquarium. A scooter blenny. I was looking at the tank today and notices that part of my maroon clown and my yellow tang had littler pieces of their tails missing. Is it possible that the blenny did this or maybe they did it to each other.

Here is a list of all my fish:
    5 Blue/Green chromis
    1 Yellow tang
    1 Regal tang
    1 Maroon clown
    1 Percula clown
    1 Scooter blenny
    1 Royal gramma

    Thanks,
    Mike

It's possible. I had to move a scooter blenny from my reef to my new tank because he was constantly nipping the tails of my mandarins. Normally they would go after slow moving fish that hang out around the bottom though, I'm surprised that your yellow tang would be nipped.

Yes, my mandarin's did. Several times actually. It took me a long time to catch the scooter, well, actually my son got him in the end The last nip was a very bad one but it's almost all filled in now.
