    Powder Brown Tang

Just a quick question... I just bought a powder brown tang, and its is about 2 - 3 inches... i was wondering when it gets older will its colors it deeper? Now the yellow on him is faint and light, also ther is no red - orange on him as i seen in other powder browns. will this come as he matures?

    Thanks,

    Pluff,

Are you sure you have a Powder Brown (Acanthurus Japonicus), and not a Gold Rim (Acanthurus Nigricans)tang?
These are often confused at the LFS.

    Here are some comparison pictures...

    and now:

Tang Man : Thanks, It is the same as the first pic you posted, except I dont see that much orange yet. the face is exact as that pic.

Kevin: Yep i got it at Pets, they wanted $130.00 for it. I got it for $44.00. I guess its who you know I've always wanted one,so now I finally got one. At first I was worried as my yellow tang was kicking the S@#%T out of it but,for some strange reason my Foxface was protecting it... All is fine now.

    Thanks again,

    Marcel

That's great, they get a good size too! $44 dollars is quite a deal as well, I seen it there but for that price($130) it was staying there . Good luck with it , Enjoy !!

The first pic is a powder brown just like mine.
I picked it up 2 weeks ago for a good price in Montreal.
