90G project: Suggestion and opinions required

I am presently lookinf for a 90G or bigger, it will depends on the price i can get it... dimension should be 36x32x20 to 36x36x20, price will tell.

-Lightning: 2x250W MH at 12500K Iwaki bulbs + 2 or 3 T5 artinic, i will see how blue it is, but a guess 2 will be ok.

-I dont know if 2 big fans are better than 4 smaller one also

-For the skimmer, i am currently using the remora pro but i am thinking to have a in sump, for less noise of the waterfall create by the remora pro.

-Sump of 30G (divided in 3 parts) + caulerpa and 20 pds of LR

    -5 maxijet 1200 but its not enough i guess for a 90G

    -Uv lamp

-Ca reactor maybe a few monts later when i will be able to have SPS

    - 75 pds of LR and 25 pds of Base Rock, maybe adding 40 more pounds

    -1 inch of Sugar sand

-background: have no idea yet (blanc or dark blue) or any suggestions? paint?

aquascape: the tank will be in the corner of my room, so i though for a L shape with a little isle in other side of the "L"

For the stand, i want to make something like this but dont have any idea how it is built :S

What about your return from your sump? will that add enough for you?

    - 75 pds of LR and 25 pds of Base Rock, maybe adding 40 more pounds

I would definately add the extra 40 pounds, that way it can be places under the live rock, I for one am not found of what base rock looks like at first.

Big fans can make less noise then little fans, a big fan at a lower speed will move just as much air as a smaller fan at high speed, maybe 4 big fass?

If your looking for an insump protien skimmer, definately talk to Harley hear acryliccity, my new insump skimmer is awsome.

Good choice in stand, I to wish I was more handy with a saw.

:thumb: :thumb: The rest looks good to me! Have fun setting up this next beast!

Its a 36x32x20 up to 36x36x20 depending on the price
the L shape is the way i will put my rocks.

Adam, which one of Harley's skimmer do you have? i think the ACS620 is really nice and also really good price! I already gave him a message for that. Thanks for your suggestions!

4 bigs fans will be nice, better have more than needed then not enough haha!

the return pump is a 800 GPH. i forgot about that one.

Get a sequence pump for a closed loop instead of the 5+ Maxijets. I would still pick up a couple MJ just to have for emergencies and for other things. Sequence are silent, and great pumps. I have 3 small low RPM computer fans in my canopy, 2 blowing in, 1 sucking out, plus the back of the canopy is open. I have 2x 250w MH plus 2 93w PC acintics. You shouldnt need too many moe fans unless your canopy is closed IMO. Having sugar sand will make it a little harder to have higher flow if you are planning on SPS (again depending on how much flow. Tang man has np with his sand bed). I have a coarser sand bed and have sugar sized in my sump where there is low flow.

There are multiple models depending on your flow requirements. If you think about it, if you bought 5 MJ 1200 you would be spending aroudn $250, and it wouldnt be enough flow. If you buy 1 sequence at say $400, you have a very very high quality pump which can out perform 10+ MJ 1200. It may be a high initial investment, but in the long run it will save you money, especially since they are also low power. Ask anyone on here who has one (myself, Tang_man, ReefVan and probably others), we all love them and will probably go with them in the future.
