    Questions?

for ppl that use fluval filter in there tanks. I have a 404, should i take out all the other media other than the carbon and use it as a powerhead or should i use it as a filter?

And when im cleaning out my tank, should i fill it half full or to the top and let it cycle for a bit with the fluval?

    Thx

I have always cleaned my tanks in the front driveway by putting them on their end on a peice of plywood and hosing them out.
One good hose rinse followed by a good scrub with a plastic kitchen scrubie that contains NO soap or a nylon brissled brush. Then I hose them out again. pay attention to the inside corners and under the lip of the top trim and I have NEVER had an issue.

By the way- for anyone using poly filter- you can buy a pillow size of it for about $6 in a fabric store. Don't waste your money by getting it in the LFS.

For now...I'm having a Fluval 404 and I replace all stuff inside and replace with BIOMAX.

My sump and skimmer will be ready in about 2 weeks...

I started curing my rocks and I must say that Fluval with Biomax works...

    I saw change in NH4, NO2 and NO3 since 2 weeks...

I guess if you have 75G and less...it can works fine.

Some ppl even say you can use the FLUVAL 404 with Active Carbon to clear water...(this is what I'm gonna do...transfering the biomax from the Fluval to the Sump...)

After reading couple of books, I just figured out there is 'no' perfect system (beside the real ocean) and everyone can try and set up the best that work for you.

(sorry for my bad english...french canadian here)

Yep, it is used for stuffing pillows and toys and such. The label should read something like 100% polyester fibre and will say "chemical free". It is exactly the same thing and I used it for years in both fresh and salt water systems.
