Using Garbage can for mixing salt???

Just wondering if using garbage cans are save??? If not what do people use for larger water changes? And when salt water is made how long can it sit before it needs to be used? Let me know what you do. I do about 25g water changes once a month. I use an ro/di unit for water.

As long as its "RubberMaid" one you are fine, All of Rubbermaids products are produced Food safe.. So as long as they are.. then your water will be fine.

I believe that if you want to store it you need to keep the mix in a container with a lid in which no light can reach it. Also, room temperature is fine.

I was under the impression that only the brute rubbermaid products were food grade and that the roughnecks were not.

I use garbage cans too i have rubbermaids and other types.I found that storing the water in plastic or rubber containers with pump or no pump ,the water always had a bad smell......black or dark glass containers i found was the best for storage
