I have a couple of maintenance tanks with cowries in them. They do wonders on the glass. If the glass is clean they tend to hang out in the back of the tank stuck to a rock. Can't tell you much more then that I've only introduced them in the last few weeks. Seem to be good and hardy though.

Why is it called "cargo" when it goes by ship, and "shipment" when it goes by car?

No Problem. Hope they work out. I would try to get one that was medium in size. They say that the big one can move the rock in a tank there not use to.

Best of luck. Let me know how you make out.

The most common species cowrie for tanks is the "tiger cowrie" because it is an algae grazer, and should be a fine citizen. The main knock against them is thier size and therefore thier bility to bulldoze. I wouldn't put them in a reef tank for this reason, but in a FOWLR it would be less of a problem.
