    Need some advice

Back again looking for help. Just wondering whats the best way to frag some zoo's I have. I was going to use the refuge I have on the way as a mini, very mini propagation tank. Any thoughts on this?

    John,

Is it a matting colony or individual polyps? I have found some article links that may be helpful to you.

Here is Garf's take on the procedure(s), hopefully you have not seen this already.

Sorry, no practical experience here, but I have read of many undertaking a similar endeavour -

Heh and i'm not padding my post count but from what I've read -

For matting types, seperate the mats with a knife and glue, don't cut polypls.

For non-matting , cut polyp heads off and glue to rocks. Both head and stalk regrow

According to the above, a Razor blade works well.

No problem, I'd do a little more reading first though. As I've stated, I've never actually undertaken the above :-P

Try the link below looks like it will give a little more info

    Glad to help

The safest way would be to put the rocks you would like to colonize right up against your existing one and wait for it to grow... they do grow quite fast... if you completly surround your existing colony with several rocks, then you will get several frags...

Would he still need to sever the mats at some point or do they naturally detach?
